The book of Alma starts off with the story of Nehor. What a powerful story to remind us of danger of listening to the mixed messages of the adversary.
Nehor was doing exactly what the adversary does daily. He lied. Because of his many lies, Nehor began to be popular and rich. He convinced people to give him money, and they did just that.
There are Nehor's all around us in 2020. I'm sure if we thought about it, we could name a few. I believe that's why we have his story available to us. Mormon wanted to be sure we understood just how dangerous and catastrophic the Nehor's can be in our lives.
It's easy to get caught up in what is popular in the moment. The adversary wants nothing more than our full attention. He knows just how to flatter and trap us.
We can't entertain him for even a second. He is a pathetic liar...just like Nehor.
Isn't the Book of Mormon is awesome? We are so blessed to have it as our guide!
