"Choose your love; love your choice." President Thomas S. Monson
I hit the MEGA jackpot when I convinced this pretty lady to marry me!
There was a moment on my mission when everything felt like it was falling apart. We didn't have people to teach and the people weren't being the most friendly. It didn't help that it rained and rained and rained. It rained for weeks and weeks! It felt like it would never end.
On one particular rainy day, my companion had enough. He dropped his bag and sat on the curb. He was frustrated, and so was I. I quickly joined him on the curb. We both sat there and let the rain hit our faces. He then turned to me and said, "Elder, do you realize how amazing our wives are going to be for working in the rain like this?" He was 1,000,000% correct!
The moment I saw my wife for the first time, I knew she was different. She was unlike any girl I had met before. I didn't know I was going to marry her, but I knew deep down that she was going to affect my life somehow. Do you know what I noticed first about her? Her hands. She used them when she spoke, and I noticed how pretty they were. Little did I know she loved American Sign Language. She was simply amazing!
Sitting in the Celestial Room of the Salt Lake Temple before our sealing, I held her beautiful hands. I couldn't believe this was real. I knew without doubt or hesitation in that moment that I had made the best choice for my life. I knew Heavenly Father had prepared us both for this VERY moment. The weight and responsibility was not lost on me. I wanted to be the very best I could for her in that moment and always.
I love my choice 14 years later, and would do it again in a heartbeat. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I cherish my relationship with her and can't believe we get to be together forever! I thank a loving Heavenly Father for never giving up on me and for allowing me the opportunity to marry one of his choice daughters. Other than my testimony, she is the greatest and most important blessing in my life. I chose my love; and love my choice!
